캔비 교육구, 학생들에게 “부적절한” 도서 36권 제외

포틀랜드 남쪽에 위치한 캔비(Canby) 교육구가 최근 두 학부모의 요청으로 교육구내의 중학교와 고등학교 도서관에 비치된 36권의 서적을 학생들의 열람 목록에서 제외시켰다.

불만을 제기한 학부모들은 해당 서적들이 중학생이나 고등학생이 읽기에는 지나치게 “선정적”이고 “외설적”이라고 지적했다.

그러나 일부 학부모들과 학생들은 해당 서적에 대해 일부의 의견으로 서적을 도서관에서 치운 것은 “지나치다”라는 방반응이다.
