오레곤에서 가장넓게 자리잡는 South Hillsboro Community를 이번 칼럼에는 소개하고자 합니다.  1998년도 계획을 시작한 사우스 힐스보로 플랜은 오랜 기간동안의 연구와 계획을 통해서 아래 조감도와 같이 하이텍크 동네가 들어온다. 현재 힐스보로는 포틀랜드 서쪽에 위치하며 워싱턴 카운티에서 가장 빠르게 성장하는 도시로 InteI, Nike, and Tektronix 과 같은  큰 회사들이 주위에 자리를 밪고 있고 많은 고급 하이택 과 메디칼 분야에 종사하는 분들이 많은 곳이다. 2019년에Intel’s Hillsboro D1X facility announced a 1.5-million-square-foot expansion in December 를 계획하고 있어서 주택의 수요는 급증할 예상이다. 현재로는  463 에이커 땅에 약 4000주택이 들어오며 30만불 대의 타운 홈 주택과 50-70만불 가격대의 단독주택이 들어서게 된다.  현재 Lennar Homes에서는 첫Phase의 단독주택을 다 매매를 했고 계속해서 타운홈과 여러 주택 건축회사들이 계속해서 모델홈과 분양할 주택을 짖고 있는 샹황이다.

앞으로 2021까지는 아파트와 초등학교가 세워지며 그로서리와 식당과 상가를 포함된 타운센터가  2026년까지 완공될 예정이다.  사우스 힐스보로는 다목적용 아주 잘 꾸며진 커뮤너티가 될 것이며 Natural area, 태양열 주택, 5 에이커의  wetland와 걸어다니는 츄레일을 포함한 자전거길까지 포함된 23 에이커를 만들예정이다.  사우스 힐스보로는 거의 40% 베이비 부머 세대와밀레니엄과 Generation X세대가 함게 어우러져  오레곤이 자랑할 만한 훌륭한 커뮤너티가 될 것이다
