[QA/QC]
Position Summary
-The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring timely and effective implementation of all company's policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of manufactured products. She/he maintains close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Supervise and direct quality assurance technicians/auditors who are responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality-related policies in order to meet product quality standards.
-Review Production Batch Record and other manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities.
-Audit quality control of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards.
-Follow up with implemented programs (GMPs, Good Hygiene Practices, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, Organic Certification, etc.) to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility.
-Assist in the coordination of testing results involving finished products, raw materials, and packaging components and the appropriate release and hold programs associated with these materials.
-Oversee the “On Hold” product program, including the status, release, and destruction of “Rejected” products.
-Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
-Make proactive recommendations and offering/presenting solutions to the Quality System & Regulatory Compliance Department Management to improve quality and work efficiency.
-Share knowledge, skills and information with other personnel in the quality systems & regulatory compliance department and across functional areas.
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree of Science preferably in Food Science or related field is preferred but not required or equivalent practical experience required
-At least 3 years of work experience as quality assurance auditor/technician in food/beverage, pharmaceutical or dietary supplements industry and at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity
-SQF practitioner Certification preferred
-HACCP training (meat and poultry, seafood) acquired
-A good knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices, preferably 21CFR Part 111, and food safety
-Basic Computer knowledge
-Allergen Control training, Food Recall training , PCQI, SQF Practitioner Certification Preferred
[Production Manager]
Responsibilities
-Supervises staff to produce manufactured food products and organizes and monitors workflow.
-Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
-Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
-Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
-Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
-Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
-Researches and negotiates with vendors and suppliers to improve efficiency of processes and reduce unnecessary costs.
-Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
-Maintains working relationship with union members and representatives by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
-Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements
-High school diploma, BS in engineering a plus
-2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
Prior supervisory experience
-OSHA Safety certification, Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), and Certified Manufacturing Specialist (CMS) a plus
